Cold Rollins Noctilucant has come amazing leaps and bounds into meta-physical Darkness Ambient since his debut "Back To The Mud" in 2015 - Whilst his early work was for me a slow burner of innately lucid and fresh concepts and vibes,i've since found his more recent release's (including for the most part the side projects) Have cemented as instant classics upon arrival - While retaining his subtle unique style - Beautifully morbid (yes, thats a thing) Post apocalyptic and melancholic. Favorite track: V: Chronicling the Apocalypse.

about

Beginnings. Where to start? The exact date of creation of Noctilucant isn’t exactly known, not even to me, but I remember it was the early days of June 2015 that the project first began to take shape. I had been experimenting with ideas for a year or two, but had been struggling to understand how to actually record what I was creating to my PC. Sometime in June a friend of mine stopped over to hang and we figured out how to do it -- he had been creating music and been in bands for over twenty years, so easy for him, but something strange and unknown to a newcomer like me.

Almost immediately songs began to flow out of me, ideas that I’d held inside for entirely too long, and quickly the first Noctilucant album, ‘Back to the Mud,’ began to arise. In late July of that same year I lost my job, and was suddenly given an enormous amount of creative freedom until I found new employment. I didn’t hold back. I worked on music every single day thereafter. Anger and depression was filtered into my art, I could have stumbled, sunk deeper, hit rock bottom even, but I made a choice, and made the best out of a rare opportunity. It’s been five years since I started this journey, and I have no desire to turn back now and stop the adventure!

‘V: Chronicling the Apocalypse’ is a “best of” compilation... well, of sorts. Instead of simply taking my best/favorite songs and leisurely just tossing them together, I decided to take it a step further, and do something different. V:CtA gathers together several of my favorite “moments” within my music and blends them together as one long form massive cinematic dark ambient piece. Admittingly, this album was partially inspired by the Current 93 release, ‘The Great in the Small,’ but is not exactly the same, as I’ve chosen certain select cuts, rather than my entire discography, as C93 did on that release.

At any rate, this song should provide an interesting overview of the past five years, and may bring to light a certain moment you missed out on and may want to discover. Since this is literally just old material reshaped/repackaged I’ve decided to make this a FREE album. However, if you feel it's actually worth something feel free to make a donation. This is a thank you to everyone, everywhere, who has supported my music in some way or another. Thank you!

The second song, ‘Chamber of Voices,’ gathers together all of the spoken narration, singing, monster sounds and other abnormal signs of life into one experimental acapella like piece. The song features absolutely no music; just voices, lost souls, cries for help, and other dearly departed wayward travelers from the past five years. The harrowing reminder of humanity.

‘Chamber of Voices’ features the voices of: Kara Phillips, Tom O’Bedlam, Steve Keiler, Michael Barnett, Matthew Donachie, Matthew Schmitz, and yours truly (on many occasions). ‘Chamber of Voices’ also features samples from the Bethesda video game, Skyrim.
