‘The Remnants of the S.S. Darwin’ is a collection of unreleased audio from the ‘Descension: Original Soundtrack’ sessions. The material presented on these songs originally existed as numerous shorter pieces, which were then conjoined to form one long piece (40 minutes) that was then broke into three different songs. Those familiar with the Descension soundtrack may recognize some similarities to the final product, and honestly some of these leftovers I wish I had included in the final product. Regardless of all outcomes, I’m pleased with this material and if you were a fan of Descension or just space ambient in general you’ll likely enjoy this. At various points both myself and John from the Descension project planned something more elaborate and exciting for this release, but alas, both funding and time were not on our side, so I took a simple and easy enough approach to make it a reality.
